Sorry, I forgot to attach the sketch. I have a client who proposed the attached concept for an addition to his house. While the bedroom window (now a proposed door) would still be available as the emergency egress, what minimum courtyard¹ depth would be required, and could there still be a roof over it? Essentially, this would be a mostly enclosed space, although open to the outside at one end. Input would be appreciated. Thank you. Eric Eric D.
