I have a frame building with a brick veneer It has a 1" space between the two. The inspector is not allowing the window to be installed because of the void. he says the window must be supported fully for the 3.5 inches of the window thickness. The outside is supported by the veneer and the inside is supported by the drywall and the double studs underneath.The void is where the screw holes are located.We wanted to drill other holes in further to catch the studs and he said he needs engineering from the manufacture PGT to allow this change.
