I have a question as the code is being interpreted between 2 counties as different. We have a condensing unit located on a residential roof 20 years old & we changed it out & secured it to the existing timbers. The county the change out is in says we must raise the unit to a stand, now on 4x4's. Another county says if we were in their county we can put it back where it was on 4x4's. I read the code & understand, we would only raise the unit if the job was: 1. New construction or 2. If we were relocating it from the ground to the roof (never been on the roof before). Please set us straight & tell me the truth. Thanks, Dan
