Updated Tracking Charts

The tracking charts have been revised to follow a consent agenda, and to
integrate TAC action and deferred items as applicable. Consent agenda
means that the proposed code changes were organized in the tracking
charts into two groups: glitch and not a glitch. Proposed modifications
meeting the following criteria are grouped together as a glitch.

●    Conflicts within the updated code;

キ Conflicts between the updated code and the Florida Fire
Prevention Code adopted pursuant to chapter 633;

キ The omission of previously adopted Florida-specific amendments
to the updated code if such omission is not supported by a specific
recommendation of a technical advisory committee or particular action by
the commission;

キ Unintended results from the integration of previously adopted
Florida-specific amendments with the model code; or

キ Changes to federal or state law.

キ Updates to the NEC (pending HB 697 signature)

Code change proposals that failed to meet the criteria stated above were
assigned to not a glitch code modification. Updated tracking charts
titled, 徹ctober 6, 8, 12-14, 2008? are available on the web site at
the following link:

08.htm

Please save the zipped TAC folders to your desk top before extracting
them. Otherwise the links in the tracking charts to the code
modifications may not open.

The Plumbing, Mechanical, Roofing, and Special Occupancy TACs tracking
charts were updated to integrate the committee action and were organized
by glitch/not a glitch as determined by the respective committee. As a
clarification, these tracking charts have been reviewed by the TACs and
are up for review by the Commission.

The Structural tracking chart was updated to add deferred modifications
from the Roofing TAC specific to gable end construction criteria 菟
roposed Chapter 16 to the 2007 Florida Building Code, Existing
Building?and to group the modifications as glitch/not a glitch
designations.

The Electrical and Fire tracking charts were updated to group the
modifications as glitch/not a glitch designations.

The Energy Tracking Chart was updated to organize the proposed
modifications into two groups:

1. Comments received on Rule 9B-13 and changes due to Commission
action.

2. Glitch/not a glitch designation.

In addition staff comments have been provided to recommend ways to
resolve conflicts resulting from past Commission action in the glitch
code modification process. Similar material from different code volumes
has been grouped together. Similar code language in the Building and
Residential volumes has been identified.

Bring a laptop and power cord to the meetings:

Electronic tracking charts will be used at the TAC and the Commission
meetings to conduct the proceedings on the proposed modifications.
Although the tracking charts will be projected onto a screen for general
viewing, it may be hard to read the projected text in a large room. We
encourage you to bring a laptop and power cord to the meetings so that
you may follow the action taking place during the meetings. The updated
electronic files of the tracking charts will be available at the
meetings for installation on the participant痴 laptops; however, hard
copies will not be available. You are welcome to print and bring hard
copies with you to the meetings.

Thank you for your interest and participation in the development of the
2007 Florida Building Code.

Thank you!
