[Florida Code Talk] fire stations

Steve,

I do not have the specific code or rule for reference. I do recall when a
conflict occurred between FBC and State FPC or NFPA, in the 80's there was a
rule adopted by the State referred [generically] as the Conflict Resolution
Law. In essence, the more stringent code or rule would apply. This was true
for definitions, applications, etc. And of course the FBC applies to the
structure primarily whereas the FPC applies to life safety within the
structure and secondarily means of egress.

Steve,

According to FFPC fire station quarter utilized for sleeping and activities
should be classified as dormitory occupancy or it could be classified as
lodging and rooming house depending on occupant load. The bay area is
classified as storage occupancy.

Just a question about a new fire station. It seems we have a difference of
opinion what the occupancy should be. I'm leaving this open with no
suggestion one way or the other so not to influence anyones decision. Your
input is greatly appreciated. The code book is just so simple.

Thank,
Steve
