I am guessing this is a tenant separation wall? You can run the 1 hr wall up to a one hr ceiling if it meets the requirements. Are there any penetrations in the ceiling such as HVAC? You would need rated dampers. All plumbing and elec conduits that penetrate the ceiling would have to meet UL or similar requirements. glen ----- Original Message ----- From: WPMyrick at aol.com To: codetalk at myfloridacode.com Sent: Tuesday, August 18, 2009 4:11 PM Subject: [Florida Code Talk] 1 Hr. Rated Wall & Ceiling Greetings everyone, I have an Interior build-out inside an existing steel building. Can the 9' high 1 Hr. Rated Wall terminate at the 1 Hr. Rated Ceiling, or does this wall have to continue up and terminate at the underside of the roof deck? Paul Myrick, C.B.C.
