A question for the group(s): I have a potential client (remarkable achievement lately) with a gas fireplace that is vented horizontally out the exterior wall, about 30² above existing grade (picture attached). The owner would like to extend a patio roof along that same wall, and then screen it in as part of the pool enclosure. This would just be a roof supported by the existing wall and a couple of columns and beams. Is the existing gas vent okay as is, or will something else have to be done? If I turn it up and bring it through the new roof, it would be in front of the upstairs windows (living/sleeping space). Your assistance is, as always, appreciated. Thank you.
