[Florida Code Talk] Job site materials theft responsibility

In my experience, materials belong to whoever is suppose to pay for them;
i.e., each subcontractor is responsible for protecting and replacing
materials they are to provide as part of their contract. Conversely, the
general contractor is responsible for materials he is paying for.

My contracts charge the carpenter, for example, with culling and protecting,
from weather, material he will be using but I do not order more material
than will be installed in a week unless I can lock it up. I know that's not
possible with a steel building's components unless you use a chain link
fence.

I also believe that overall jobsite security is the builder's
responsibility.
