Per FBC Plumbing 2007 hot water is not required, look at the exception, I underlined the appropriate wording. SECTION 607 HOT WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM 607.1 Where required. In occupied structures, hot water shall be supplied to all plumbing fixtures and equipment utilized for bathing, washing, culinary purposes, cleansing, laundry or building maintenance. Exception: In nonresidential occupancies, hot water or tempered water shall be supplied for bathing and washing purposes. The delivery of cold water only shall be permitted to be delivered from all hand-washing facilities except where hot water is required by law. Tempered water shall be supplied through a water temperature limiting device that conforms to ASSE 1070 and shall limit the tempered water to a maximum of 110°F (43°C). This provision shall not supersede the requirement for protective shower valves in accordance with Section 424.3. 607.1.1 Hand-washing lavatories. In public food service establishments, food establishments or where otherwise required by law, lavatories intended for the purpose of employee hand washing shall be equipped with hot or tempered water. --- On Fri, 10/16/09, codetalk-request at myfloridacode.com <codetalk-request at myfloridacode.com> wrote: From: codetalk-request at myfloridacode.com <codetalk-request at myfloridacode.com> Subject: CodeTalk Digest, Vol 50, Issue 17 To: codetalk at myfloridacode.com Date: Friday, October 16, 2009, 12:00 PM Send CodeTalk mailing list submissions to codetalk at myfloridacode.com To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://myfloridacode.com/mailman/listinfo/codetalk or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to codetalk-request at myfloridacode.com You can reach the person managing the list at codetalk-owner at myfloridacode.com When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of CodeTalk digest..." If a business ( food ) is leasing space and the COMMON AREA restrooms are to be used by all in the same building.....is there anything in the code that states that the restrooms MUST have hot water.... The food business portion has 3 handsinks that do supply hot water for the employees of said food business.
