You can find it in Chapter 1 of the FBC Residential (R101.2)......
 
3 stories only, any other you would use FBC Building.....

Can anyone tell me if the residential code only applies to 3 stories and
if that is the case what code applies to a 4 story home?

	Have a roofed structure (pavilion) open on three sides has a
proposed
	bar at one end. In determining occupant load would you treat
this like
	an enclosed building or outdoor area. I'm leaning towards
outdoor area
