[Florida Code Talk] Carbon Monoxide Protection

DCA08-DEC207 (link below) deals with many questions related to carbon
monoxide detection. However, the concern is whether or not protection
is required when a garage is attached only to SFR by open breezeway.
Interestingly, the replies that I received so far are split down the
middle. (I do not share personal messages unless authorized by
senders.)

BTW: I have been trying to find signed copy of DEC statement...but not
having any success.

You should look up DCA08-DEC207. It deals with many of the questions
related to the C.O. requirements in existing buildings.

Rob, I would say that it is not an "attached" garage and therefore
exempt. I would suggest battery alarms to the owner as a compromise.

Hello Group,

Heard different opinions on this. Thought that it would be good to get
feedback. Got a person who wants to add a garage to existing SFR.
Garage will be connected by open breezeway. Is carbon monoxide
protection required per section R313.4 of the FBCR? (Section R313.4 is
in 2009 amendments.)
