I've been involved in that type of construction and the manufactures does not allow that. I would suggest getting the manufactures spec relating to that issue. Also the code is clear. If you need more let me know Tom Ricci BT Builders Inc 954-214-4448 In a message dated 9/29/2009 8:21:38 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, rharrell1 at cfl.rr.com writes: Hello All, I'm looking at a set of plans for building constructed of ICF walls. Wall sections indicate that foam on outside of building will be less than 6 inches from grade and will be covered with synthetic finish (e.g. Dryvit). In some areas foam will extend below grade. Are the ICF walls required to comply with section 2603.8 of the FBCB, more specifically clearances between earth and foam? Feedback will be much appreciated. Please let me know if you need additional information or clarification in order to reply. Thanks. Rob Harrell (NOTE: Designer has classified the building as Type IIB, but technically building is VB based on construction drawings.) _______________________________________________ CodeTalk mailing list CodeTalk at myfloridacode.com Unsubscribe by sending an email to codetalk-unsubscribe at myfloridacode.com or Unsubscribe or change your options at: http://myfloridacode.com/mailman/listinfo/codetalk -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
