The wall needs to be supported on a footing. The Florida Building Code
requires the use of the footing. The wall needs to be braced
immediately to prevent overturning and potential injury.

Subject: [Florida Code Talk] Concrete Footer

I have a jobsite with no footer under a 20 foot tall CMU bearing wall.
The wall is already installed (illegally) with no tie to the slab
rebar. What are the ramnifications of leaving it without a footer &
should I just ignore it since it is already done ? If not, what codes
should I cite the builder with ?
