February 2, 2010 MEETING

Major Business and Actions

 

The Commission modified and approved additional recommendations to the
Legislature regarding flood standards incorporation into the building
code, reviewed workplan prioritization exercise results and conducted
routine business as follows.

            April 6 & 7, 2010, Hilton Hotel, Gainesville, Florida

Accessibility Code Waivers:             See the “Facilitator’s Report”
for waiver analysis.

 

1.	Pine Creek Sporting Club

Issue:  Vertical accessibility to all levels of a tree house structure
at a private club.

Action:  Action deferred to allow the applicant to provide additional
information. 

 

2.	The Pink House

Issue:  Vertical accessibility to guest rooms on the second floor of a
building undergoing a change of use from private residence to a bed and
breakfast with no construction work being done.

Action:  Deferred at the request of the applicant. 

 

3.	Adventist Health Systems Headquarters

Issue:  Vertical accessibility to all rows of seats in a new 111 seat
stadium style auditorium in new corporate facility.  

Action:  Granted with conditions for accessible seating dispersion. 

 

4.	Latitude 30 Degrees

Issue:  Vertical accessibility to all rows of seats in a 60 seat movie
theater.  

Action:  Granted with conditions.

 

5.	Xixon Café Restaurant

Issue:  Vertical accessibility to a 502 square foot sunken dining area
and a 707 square foot elevated dining area in a restaurant that also has
936 square feet of accessible dining at grade. 

Action:  Deferred to allow the applicant to clarify additional
information. 

 

6.	K-8 School EE

Issue:  Vertical accessibility to all rows of seats in an auditorium
with a seating capacity of 500.   

Action:  Deferred to further information regarding access to the stage. 

 

7.	Hernando High School EEE

Issue:  Vertical accessibility to seating in several campus locations.

1.	Gymnasium:  Retractable bleacher system. 

2.	Baseball and softball field bleachers. 

3.	Football field seating. 

Action:  Deferred to allow the applicant to provide further information.


 

8.	City of Miami College of Policing

Issue:  Vertical accessibility to a new, 200 seat auditorium.  

Action:  Deferred to allow the applicant to clarify further information.


 

9.	Park Lido Hotel

Issue:  Vertical accessibility to the first floor guest rooms accessed
from lobby area by stairs of an existing 36 room hotel located in a
historic district.  

Action:  Approved. Accessible rooms are on the second floor accessible
by an elevator.
