It is a "repair" in accordance with Chapter 5 of the FBC-EB if you restore it with like kind and quality materials, but it may be considered an alteration if you change the layout or configuration of the trusses or significantly modify the materials. [just my humble opinion] Randy Howard -----Original Message----- From: codetalk-bounces at myfloridacode.com [mailto:codetalk-bounces at myfloridacode.com]On Behalf Of Rob Harrell Sent: Friday, July 16, 2010 8:15 AM To: BOAF Discussion Group; CodeTalk Subject: [Florida Code Talk] Florida Existing Building Code (Fire DamageRestoration) Fire-damaged SFR. Approximately 40% of roof structure destroyed with some minor damage to interior partitions. Is the restoration to building considered repair or alteration under Florida Existing Building Code? (Heard different opinions on this.) Any and all replies will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Rob Harrell -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
