NO. Ref: FRC - section 317.2 et.al. Townhouses are "considered separate properties" : They have separate property lines and separate parcel numbers. The required 2 hour separation walls are required between the units to the underside of the roof area or above the roof depending on the design. In addition, one layer of 5/8" type "X" directly applied to the ceiling trusses or rafters is not an approved or listed 2 hour rated separation construction.
