[Florida Code Talk] range hoods

You can not install a fire damper in grease laden ductwork so I believe that
the motor operated damper would not be permitted. The damper will become
sticky with grease and not work as designed.

P.S. I am the person who answered the first question and did not identify
myself - I am sorry for the confusion I caused everyone.

that is the case, but a customer is paranoid about energy efficiency in a
super tight house and also wants a motorized damper for a tight seal , so
the question is .....will that meet code?

You should be installing the back draft damper assembly that comes with the
hood to eliminate the intrusion of exterior air.

Is it legal to install low voltage motorized dampers on residential kitchen
range hoods in order to prevent exterior air infiltration while not in use?
