There are several steps involved and items to note:

*         You must register the fictitious name with the Florida
Division of Corporations (www.sunbiz.com) and advertise the name in the
newspaper (instructions on sunbiz.com)

*         You must complete the DBPR/CILB's Active to Active Change of
Status application to move your GC license from one company name to the
other company name.

*         You are NOT be eligible for worker's compensation exemption
under a fictitious company name.

Upon initial activation of my G.C. license and forming a company for the
license to qualify I really did not use much foresight as you can see M
Tyson Construction is a pretty plane Jane name. I'm considering opening
a fictitious name company with a tag line that would be more conducive
to advertising both in print and radio. My question is will I have to go
back to D.B.P.R. and move the license into the fictitious company or can
M Tyson Construction qualify the new company
