Question for the group; What type of "permanent" labels are the municipalities excepting for garage doors as required in the code reference below? I've seen fill in the blank, check the box and typed from the manufacturer. What is permanent? Seems there is a lot of interpretation out there. (R613.4.5 Garage door labeling. Garage doors shall be labeled with a permanent label provided by the manufacturer. The label shall identify the manufacturer, the garage door model/series number, the positive and negative design pressure rating, indicate impact rated if applicable, the installation instruction drawing reference number, the Florida Product Approval or Miami-Dade Product Approval number if applicable, and the applicable test standards. The required garage door components for an approved garage door assembly may be indicated using a checklist format on the label. If a checklist format is used on the label, the installer or manufacturer shall mark the selected components on the checklist that are required to assemble an approved garage door system. The installation instructions shall be provided and available on the job site.) Thanks, Steve Roland CBO, BCA _____ Please consider.....most one and two car garage sectional door models or manufactured products may have multiple windload ratings dependant upon the type of rollers, brackets, bracing, u-channels and number and locations of the of the reinforcement for the garage door assembly. Therefore, in most cases, it is the responsibility of the garage door installer or contractor to identify, mark, punch or otherwise mark information on the label supplied by the manufacturer. In short, the windload rating of a particular installation is dependant upon the methods and materials of installation. The Manufacturers installation specifications and drawings should be on the jobsite for inspections. Bob Antol Plans Examiner County of Volusia BU806, PX986, BN230
